Second Heart Assist 3 Impeller Gen. III Design:
The E3P pump is designed for a flow of >3 liters/minute when temporary high flow may be needed, such as quickly relieving a patient of fluid overload. It is intended to be delivered on the standard Second Heart Assist 13.8Fr catheter and will include enhanced flow with three impeller blades in series. The device can operate at lower RPMs and still achieve the same flow rates as the one impeller design at higher RPMs. This design features impellers that spring open (how the aortic stent opens in the 1st generation design), fewer moving parts, and a V element shape pointed downwards for easier removal. The V element down form also allows natural aortic blood flow to assist in opening the impeller(s) – working with the flow instead of against it. See the video here

Back pressure system for added flow to kidneys at less RPMS Second Heart Assist Gen. V Design:
The “Pusher Puller Combo Device” This pump is designed to increase augmented blood flow into the renal arteries and kidneys. It combines the benefits of pusher and puller systems to quickly revive kidney function and rapidly remove excess fluids in heart failure patients. The Generation V pump is designed to allow patients to leave the hospital sooner by relieving fluid overload and reviving kidney function faster. The back pressure puller catheter is a temporary catheter with adjustable (or selection choice fixed) chute openings to control flow to the kidneys or the feet as required. In the standard configuration, the pump will temporarily divert 70% of the aortic flow to the kidneys until the fluid overload is relieved and close to normal kidney function is restored. 30% of the flow will be directed to the feet. (The current generation device is configured to have a maximum of 15% to 20% of the aortic flow to the renal arteries and kidneys and 80% to 85% to the feet.) The concept is to temporarily redirect the work of our current impeller stent pump to increase flow into renal arteries and the kidneys until the fluid overload is relieved and kidney function is revived. The back pressure puller catheter would be left in place only until the fluid overload was relieved – approximately 6 to 12 hours. Bioelectric protein expression Generation VI Design:
Bioelectric coils on aortic stent that when energized with external wireless energy are able to control release of klotho and follistatin from aortic muscle tissue that enters the bloodstream circulates and helps kidneys and heart recover from failure. The protein expressions help reverse cardio-renal syndrome. This may be combined with a bioelectric body suit that stimulates skeletal muscle to release more klotho and follistatin into the bloodstream. Klotho also helps prevent further progression of calcification of arteries and heart valves.
